Just before 3 a.m. the day after Christmas, several young men were traveling together in New Jersey. Sadly, they never reached their destination because a tragic collision occurred. A tanker truck was also involved in the crash.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions as to what exactly may have caused the two vehicles to collide. What is known so far is that, at some point, the sport utility vehicle carrying the four men whose ages ranged from 21 to 24 slammed into the rear of the tanker truck. Sudden impact in such situations is often so forceful that it is highly unlikely anyone inside the vehicle will survive. Evidence of tremendous force could be seen in the post-accident wreckage of this incident, as the roof of the SUV was sliced off the vehicle.
Sadly, all four men in the sport utility vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The person behind the wheel of the tanker truck survived the accident but suffered minor injuries. Rescuers and investigators were on site until 9 a.m. that morning, cleaning up debris and conducting preliminary investigations.
Police reported that this was the deadliest New Jersey accident that has occurred in 2018. If a traveler's fatal personal injury is determined to have been caused by driver negligence, a legal claim may be filed to seek financial recovery for losses suffered in connection with a collision. When an immediate family member is acting in memory of a deceased accident victim, the litigation process can be complicated, which is why most families choose to act alongside experienced legal support in court.
