One would not necessarily think there would be much traffic on New Jersey roads in the early hours past midnight. However, all it takes is one act of negligence to cause a motor vehicle collision that results in personal injury. A recent incident resulted in injuries to several travelers and also caused the tragic deaths of two passengers.
The 24-year-old woman and 25-year-old man were reportedly riding together in the back seat of the same car. It was approximately 3 a.m. when the vehicle they were in and one other on the road somehow collided. In that instant, lives were forever changed.
In addition to the two fatalities, both drivers and several other passengers from each vehicle suffered injuries that required transportation to a nearby medical center for treatment. Thankfully, those injuries were not considered life-threatening. Since the exact cause of the collision was not immediately apparent, investigators will work to resolve unanswered questions and formally document what occurred.
Many personal injury and fatal New Jersey car accidents are caused by driver negligence. Failing to stop at red lights, driving while intoxicated or speeding are several of the most frequently-reported types of negligence that often lead to collisions that cause injury or death. Those who survive their injuries may seek restitution in court just as immediate family members of deceased accident victims may do in order to pursue justice on the behalves of their loved ones, who might still be with them were it not for the negligence of another party.
