Medical worker suffers fatal personal injury as a pedestrian

Standing at a bus stop in New Jersey can apparently be a life-threatening experience. A 59-year-old woman recently suffered a fatal personal injury in an accident involving a bus. The woman is said to have been an employee of a nearby medical facility. The situation has led authorities on a manhunt.

The accident occurred early one recent morning when the woman was at a bus stop near her workplace. A bus suddenly struck her. Sadly, she did not survive the impact of the crash. No details were provided as to how many other people may have been at the bus stop at the time although no other injuries were reported.

Police now have their work cut out for them as they search for the driver of the bus. Officials say he took off running after the horrific accident. Prosecutors say they know the name of the 36-year-old bus driver and an active investigation remains ongoing to locate him. One witness lamented the fact that a bus driver would be so apparently reckless.

When a New Jersey accident victim does not survive a personal injury, families, friends and co-workers are often left shocked and grief-stricken. Anger and frustration may also set in when a particular situation is deemed to have been caused by driver negligence. In the past, surviving family members of fatal accident victims have pursued justice by filing wrongful death claims on the behalves of their deceased loved ones; once authorities locate the man who was behind the wheel when this accident took place, the victim's family may choose to take similar action in court., naming the driver's employer as an additional defendant.
