Another heated immigration dispute re a mother’s DACA status

One can only imagine the emotional turmoil of two children, ages 5 and 11 months, at suddenly being separated from their mother. That's exactly what has happened, however, in a controversial immigration situation that has taken place in another state. The children's mother, age 22, is about to be deported from the United States even though those advocating on her behalf say her legal status is protected through the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Act.

The young mother had reportedly been detained before she obtained DACA approval. Since then, she has successfully renewed her status twice. She recently went to an immigration office to post a bond for one of her family members. She was shocked when officials asked her several questions and then took her into custody.

Relatives of the woman say they've attempted to see her several times but that every time they arrive at the proper location, they are told she has been moved. Updated information suggests she is now at a final holding place where immigrants are typically sent just before their removals. An immigration advocate speaking about case said it's ridiculous that immigration officials would treat a young mother as some sort of threat.

It's not the only immigration trouble happening in the nation these days. Another man, age 23, may be returning to the United States for trial after being deported. He claims that when he was deported, he was under DACA protection. Any New Jersey resident facing similar problems would likely benefit from experienced legal counsel.
