Personal injury claim possible in deadly New Jersey accident

There is a lot to be said for doing the right thing. This definitely applies to adhering to traffic laws and taking responsibility for one's actions. When this does not happen, the result can be tragic, and there is the possibility of a personal injury or wrongful death claim being filed in a New Jersey civil court.

Recently, a man suspected of driving while drunk crashed into a Hyundai Sonata and then a Yamaha motorcycle. The female Sonata driver suffered a head injury in the accident and was transported to a local hospital. The male motorcycle driver was not as fortunate, and he was declared dead at the accident scene.

According to witnesses, the driver who apparently caused the accident exited his Mercedes Benz and attempted to leave the scene on foot. In doing so, he fell on the road's concrete median and was prevented from leaving by witnesses at the scene. This individual is now facing criminal charges related to the accident. He was arrested and is now awaiting a court appearance. In addition to the criminal charges, it is also likely that he will face personal injury and/or wrongful death claims from the victims or their families.

In this case, one person has suffered injury and one lost his life due to the apparent actions of another individual. Whenever a New Jersey individual or family suffers as the result of someone else's negligence, it is possible that a claim for personal injury or wrongful death may be appropriate. An experienced attorney can review the specifics and help determine the appropriate course of action in seeking restitution for the damage done by another.
