New Jersey roadways wrought with danger this past weekend

| Oct 10, 2018 | Personal Injury

When a New Jersey motorist gets behind the wheel, there is no guarantee his or her final destination will be arrived at without incident. However, when one adheres to traffic regulations and remains cautious and alert while driving, chances of collision may decrease. Then again, no matter how safe a driver happens to be, another person’s negligence can cause sudden disaster.

State roadways were reportedly wrought with danger this past weekend as several fatal accidents occurred. In fact, there were a total of seven deaths; several others survived serious injuries. The third of three fatal weekend crashes occurred on a Sunday when a car suddenly careened off the road.

It slammed into several nearby trees and ignited into flames. Officials were unable to identify the driver, but the driver and another occupant were pronounced dead at the scene. There were also two backseat passengers in the vehicle when the accident occurred, and they were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. One of them, a 20-year-old man, was later flown to another facility.

Five other people died in New Jersey crashes that occurred on a Friday and Saturday night. Such tragedies afflict families and communities with grief. As loved ones who survive great loss begin to pick up the pieces of their lives to move on, they often pursue litigation against those responsible for their family members’ deaths. If the person who caused an accident suffered fatal injuries, a wrongful death claim can be filed against his or her estate.
