Civil litigation often stems from cases like this

At 3:30 a.m., there is not typically a lot of traffic on an average New Jersey roadway. Then again, just because it is the wee hours of a morning does not necessarily mean the roads would be empty either. A recent motor vehicle collision happened at such an hour. It is the type of case that often leads to civil litigation because there were multiple fatalities and injuries.

Preliminary investigations did not produce solid answers as to what may have caused the driver of a vehicle carrying numerous passengers to careen off the roadway. The car smashed into a nearby street sign. There were at least five people in the car at the time.

Sadly, two of the occupants were women who did not survive their injuries. Another woman was still alive when rescuers arrived on site. They transported her to a hospital for treatment. Two men were also injured in the crash and were both listed in critical condition when they arrived at the hospital. The ages of the accident victims were not disclosed.

It can take weeks, even months, for New Jersey investigators to determine what issues may have been causal factors in a case like this. If a recovering victim or an immediate family member of a decedent believes he or she has grounds for civil litigation, a personal injury or wrongful death claim may be filed. It is not easy to prove such claims, which is why most plaintiffs hire experienced injury law attorneys to represent them in court.
