Undocumented immigrant in need of strong criminal defense

U.S. immigration law is a hot topic in most states. Most New Jersey residents are among others who have political and personal opinions regarding the need for reform of the nation's current immigration policies. This does not negate the fact, however, that any person charged with a crime in this or another state is guaranteed the opportunity to present as strong a criminal defense as possible in court.

A man in another state is now facing similar problems. He has been accused of very serious crimes that prosecutors claim he committed while posing as a ride share driver. The man is a former employee of Lyft, one of the largest ride share companies in the nation.

Immigration officials say the man entered the United States without proper paperwork. His former employers have refused to comment regarding his personal background check. A pre-hire background check is required of all employers before hiring someone to work as a ride share driver. The employers also noted that at the time the man is supposed to have committed the crimes, he was not using the ride share application.

Chances of building a strong enough criminal defense in such circumstances are greater if a person accused of a crime in New Jersey turns to an experienced criminal law attorney for support. Especially if a defendant has a language barrier or is unfamiliar with the U.S. criminal justice system, it is beneficial to rely on skilled assistance in court. The man in this case has no prior criminal history, but he now stands accused of crimes against several women and will definitely face a significant challenge in trying to avoid conviction.
